I'm Back!!!!

Hey everybody. Has it really been 44 days since my last blog entry? From October 16th, with 31 days in October, to November 28th...minus the...carry the...x divided by y...plus pi...Yup! WOW, my math friends would be sooooo proud of me. I told you I was busy. There's a lesson on priorities somewhere in there, and I think I might have passed.

For the last six weeks or so our church has been involved in "40 Days of Community". I'm not sure we knew exactly what we were getting into, but we believed then & still believe now, that God is stirring us not to just be another institution taking up space in the community, but to actually be "in" the community. You know, that whole changing lives thing! God really has been at work amongst us. It will be interesting to see what the future holds.

On November 18th, about three-fourths of the way into "40 Days", we had our annual "Night of Worship". In all honesty, it was quite the journey getting there. However, as the days move on since then, I'm hearing more an more of what God seems to have wanted us to learn. Worship, as is prayer, is such a two way thing between us and our creator. However, sometimes His voice is heard when the music has faded away. Learning to trace those whispers back to the source can often be tricky, but if you sit back and take in the big picture, it amazingly begins to come into focus. We had over 450 people attend this year's event. Something about the Thanksgiving dinner served just prior to it seemed to get them there. I'm convinced that food is one of the great motivators in life.

So, as I told the creative arts teams at the dress rehearsal for Night of Worship...LISTEN. When talking to God, remember, He wants to talk back.

Here's a video that I made for our ministry fair a few weeks back. I thought it might serve to encourage you in your journey of worship.

Ciao!

Welcome back! I missed you in cyberspace, but I was proud of you for focusing on priorities. I'll have to try that sometime. Not soon. Right now I'm still recovering from the trauma of fasting a week from emailing you during the week of our N.O.W.

I couldn't open the video at home last night, but I'm watching it at work today, and it's wonderful! I wish I had sung with the blue shirts (the first year), but I can't sway right so it's just as well...

BEAUTIFUL. Worshipped while watching the video.
The recording sounds pretty good too, btw - big improvements on sound. Kudos to the PA dudes, and all involved!! All praise be to God!!
