I'm on a mission!

The mission, should you choose to accept it, is this; find new music that's not the same old cookie cutter stuff! At least that's the mission that I'm on. Please join me. Keep your ears open and let me know what you discover. Just this morning I discovered a band with a great sound. They go by Hyper Static Union. Check them out at their myspace page. Listen to the song "Praying For Sunny Days".

This message will self-destruct in five seconds!

I like "Praying for Sunny Days". I it is the only one of their songs that I know, but I like the funky beat and the falsetto part.

Summer, I have never heard of Flyleaf, but I do like metal music, escpecially with female vocals and that's not easy to find. I'll check it out.

I never could get my computer to play the song, so I'll just comment on your blog entry.

I was thinking at first HOW COOL that you remembered Mission Impossible like I do, and then I realized you weren't even BORN when I was watching that every Sunday night on TV!

Then I remembered having your girls one day when you and Lisa watched the MOVIE in Conway, maybe on your way home from your Arlington/Hot Springs trip??

I'm glad you like movies and old music like the Beatles so you can get a decent education, kid!!

I have trouble even getting a radio station to come in over here in Hickville, much less new music. Nonetheless, I will keep my ear to the ground.

Although, I do absolutely love the Beatles.

Hippie Chick, does your blog name, "From the Heart of Meeshelle," refer to a Beatles song?

Alright Summer, Ive never been much into metal. However, if it's gonna be hard, I do prefer female vocals. One of my favorite bands from about 5 years ago was "Benjamin Gate". The lead singer is now married to Jeremy Camp. I'd give "Flyleaf a thumbs up. Still not interesting enough for me though. I'm just looking for that "new" sound. It may not be out there. As you've heard, "there's nothing new under the sun".

Laurajo, I do like "Farewell June's" song "leanin Heavy" It has a bluesy quality about it that I really dig. Unfortunately, the rest of their stuff doesn't do much for me. I know, I know. I'm in a very picky stage right now.
